Sziasztok!
Tegnap (vagy azelőtt?) volt egy kis délutáni napsütés, gyorsan lefotóztam,
hogyan is áll most a quakerem. Már látszik, hogy milyen magas is lesz: 34,5 cm.
A kép kattintásra bejön nagyban!
Hello again,
Yesterday (or a day before?) we had some sunshine late afternoon soI took
some photos about my quaker sampler.
You can see its high now, 34,5cm.
The picture is clickable!

Dear Nina

Hi! I love your choice of colors! How did you dye your fabric? I've never done that and I would love to try. Your stitching is beautiful! Amy aka/stitchchick
Thank you :)
Amy: this piece was dyed with teagrasses. It was white. I made a very strong tea and put the fabby in it. Let is be cold and put into a cold water with vinegar.
It was too dark for this thread so I washed with my hands in a hand-warm water. And you can see the final result ;)
And: Vonna has a really good technic to dye fabby, please visit here:

Dear Nina
Your work is impressive.. you told me your fabric is a 28 count... and you are stitching 1/1... did I get it right? I might try that as well... maybe a 32 to start is a bit too much...
Can you tell me how big is the final design in real in the 28 count fabric you are using??
I am also impressed with the variety of floss people is using... I though of using the original silk but never stitched in silk and it might make it too difficult... I will think about it and choose some nice colour in the coming days... I must do some tests first... :))
love

Marta: yes, this is 28ct Cashel linen, and I'm stitching 1 over 1 with Belle Soie :)
But please look at bucilla's progress, she is stitching on 32ct linen 1 over 1 ;)) Little bit smaller than mine.
My sampler will be.. cca. 34,5 cm x 36 or 27 cm
Not big one :)
Stitching with silk threads is easy and fantastic! I love Belle Soie and Vikki Clayton silks! If you can please take a try! You will love it!
Hugs,
Nina
* of course I mean 34,5cm x 36 or 37 cm,
sorry, I was wrong.
Thanks Nina
I have at home a 50x70 piece of Belfast 32ct Country Mocha linen that I think will be very beautiful for this project (I still do not feel confident with staining my linen with tea) so... I just need the thread and I think I will listen to you and order a bunch of silks... I must try...
thanks again
marta
Marta, I can't wait to see your threads ;)
What type of silk will you buy?
I like Belle Soie and Victoria Clayton silks very much!
VC silk is a bit better, if you see Bucilla's first post you will find a link where can you buy if you want :)
Belle Soie is so soft and good to touch! Nice to stitch with both silks.
Can't wait to see your choises!

Here's Bucilla's progress with VC silks thread.
Amazing beautiful!
I chose my colour... we will see if it goes good with the linen. It is a Vicky Clayton fiber... Primordial ooze, you can see it here:

I think it is a great greenish colour... I am more a red person but one just looked soooo great!
Can´t wait!
